Abstract: This doctoral thesis art work the "Theater of Surveillance" presented issues related to the current societies that used the "surveillance" as a major tool for controlling people's behaviors to share in the same orders. resulting in all actions expressed in public lacking freedom. Among the societies that emphasized value systems and freedom, but people are limited to act. As a result, this project aimed to present all the aforementioned issues through art works with the main objective to create the animation that focused on the “surveillance" by examining the correlation working corporation between the animation and audiences, along with the presentation methods that allowed the audiences to perceive the feeling of being surveilled on by themselves in order to the create the awareness of being limited to act freely in public. Studying the thinking approaches and theories on the surveillance and the art work related artists led to the creation of 2 sets of work. The first set was the animation short film about surveillance, 12 minutes long. The story in this animation was divided into many sequences. These sequences were connected and related to each other in order that the first could be worked together with the second the interactive installation art, which projected two types of images - the animation short film with short animation excerpts from it and the images of the audiences themselves - were projected alternatively, in the surface of transparent sculptures to create dimensions of interesting corporative working. The analysis on this art work showed that planning to manage the areas of the two sets systematically and exquisitely caused the audiences to perceive the feeling of surveillance, being surveilled and surveilling by themselves through creative aesthetics effecting the audiences touching, perception and interaction on the art works. The reactions of the audiences vary but they share same common points that was trying to post themselves to look good. because they realized that they were surveilled both by the cameras and the audiences in the same areas. However, there are some cases where there is a behavior that can be said to be newly discovered and not included in the theory. Such a behavior is the intentions of some audiences who have made themselves look bad by showing funny gestures or postures in order to amuse their friends. The bad images turn out to be amusing and leading to smiles and laughter. Works in this project led to the discussion and consideration on the issues related to the "surveillance" in the modern society. The works can communicate and reflect the contents that concur with the predetermined concepts and objectives. As for the evaluation, observation and the critique by audiences. they led to the discussions on opinions between the audiences and author. There are perspectives that provide freedom of the perceptions of being surveilled that change in accordance with time. spaces and personal factors of each person. The effects from the dimensions of lights that are newly projected in accordance with the features of each audience is the new aestheticism that reflects the works in this project, led to rethinking and questioning on audiences' "selves" and "freedom" in public spaces in the effective manner.

Abstract: ผลงานศิลปดุษฎีนิพนธ์ "โรงมหรสพแห่งการจับจ้อง" นำเสนอประเด็นเกี่ยวกับสังคมในปัจจุบันที่ได้นำเอา "การจับจ้อง" มาเป็นเครื่องมือสำคัญในการควบคุบคุมพฤติกรรมของคนให้อยู่ในกฎระเบียบร่วมกัน ทำให้อากัปกิริยาท่าทางทุกรูปแบบที่แสดงออกในพื้นที่สาธารณะล้วนแล้วแต่ไม่ได้เป็นไปอย่างอิสระเสรี ท่ามกลางสังคมที่ให้ความสำคัญกับระบบคุณค่า และอุดมการณ์เสรีนิยมแต่คนในสังคมกลับมีความอิสระเสรีในการแสดงออกได้น้อยลง ด้วยเหตุนี้จึงต้องการนำเสนอประเด็นดังกล่าวในรูปแบบผลงานศิลปกรรมซึ่งได้กำหนดวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อสร้างสรรค์ผลงานสื่อศิลปะแอนิเมชั่นที่นำเสนอสารสาระประเด็น "การจับจ้อง" โดยค้นหาการทำงานร่วมกันระหว่างผลงานแอนิเมชั่นกับผู้ชม และวิธีการนำเสนอที่ผู้ชมรับรู้ได้ถึงการถูกจับจ้องด้วยตนเอง สร้างความตระหนักถึงการถูกจำกัดเสรีภาพของการแสดงออกในพื้นพื้นที่ทางสังคม การศึกษาข้อมูลแนวคิด ทฤษฎีในประเด็นของการจับจ้อง และผลงานสร้างสรรค์ของศิลปินที่เกี่ยวข้อง ทำให้กำหนดผลงานขึ้น 2 ชุด คือ ชุดที่ 1 เป็นแอนิเมชั่นเรื่องสั้นนำเสนอประเด็นการจับจ้องความยาวประมาณ 12 นาที งานชุดนี้เล่าเรื่องแบบแยกเนื้อหาออกเป็นตอน ๆ ที่มีความต่อเนื่อง และ สัมพันธ์กัน เพื่อให้ทำงานร่วมกันกับผลงานชุดที่ 2 ซึ่งเป็นศิลปะอินสตอลเลชั่นเชิงปฏิสัมพันธ์ต่อผู้ชม (interactive installation art) โดยกำหนดให้ฉายภาพ 2 ลักษณะคือ ภาพแอนิเมชั่นแบบเป็นช็อตสั้น ๆ สลับกับภาพถ่ายของผู้ชมลงบนพื้นผิวของประติมากรรมโปร่งใสที่สร้างให้เกิดมิติแสงสีที่ทำงานร่วมกันอย่างน่าสนใจ การวิเคราะห์ผลงานสำเร็จทำให้เกิดการค้นพบว่าการวางแผนจัดการพื้นที่ของงานทั้ง 2 ชุด อย่างเป็นระบบ และปราณีต ได้ทำให้ผู้ชมเกิดการประจักษ์ถึงสภาวะความรู้สึกถึงการจับจ้อง การถูกจับจ้อง และการจับจ้องด้วยตนเอง โดยเผชิญกับสุนทรียะที่สร้างสรรค์ขึ้นเพื่อให้ส่งผลต่อสัมผัส การรับรู้ และปฏิสัมพันธ์ของผู้ชมต่อผลงาน ปฏิกิริยาที่แสดงออกของผู้ชมนั้นอาจมีหลากหลายรูปแบบ แต่มีลักษณะร่วมที่คล้ายกัน คือ การพยายามที่จะจัดท่าทางของตนเองให้ "ดูดี" เพราะผู้ชมรู้ตัวว่ากำลังถูกจ้องทั้งจากกล้องในตัวผลงาน และผู้ชมท่านอื่นที่รับชมอยู่ในพื้นที่เดียวกันแต่ก็มีในบางกรณีของพฤติกรรมซึ่งถือได้ว่าเป็นข้อค้นพบใหม่นอกเหนือจากแนวคิดทางทฤษฎีคือผู้ชมบางท่านได้แสร้งสร้างภาพของตนเพื่อให้ดูไม่ดี เป็นท่าทางตลกต่าง ๆ ซึ่งเป็นเจตนาของผู้ชมที่ต้องการทำให้เกิดอารมณ์ขันในกลุ่มเพื่อน ดังนั้นภาพลักษณ์ที่ดูไม่ดีนี้กลับนำไปสู่ความรู้สึกที่สนุกมีรอยยิ้ม และเสียงหัวเราะ ผลงานสร้างสรรค์ชุดนี้ได้เปิดพื้นที่ให้เกิดการถกมือง และพิจารณาในประเด็นของการจับจ้องซึ่งทำให้ผู้ชมเข้าใจอำนาจ "การจับจ้อง" ในสังคมสมัยใหม่ได้อย่างชัดเจน ผลงานได้สื่อสาร สะท้อนเนื้อหาตรงตามแนวคิด และวัตถุประสงค์ ส่วนการประเมินผลการรับรู้ การสังเกตุการณ์ และทัศนวิจารณ์จากผู้ชม ทำให้เกิดบทสนทนาระหว่างผู้เขียน และผู้ชม โต้ตอบทรรศนะ ทางความคิดเกิดมุมมองในการรับชมที่ให้อิสระ ในการรับรู้ถึงการถูกจับจ้องที่เปลี่ยนแปลงไปตามกาละเทศะ และเหตุปัจจัยส่วนตัวของผู้ชม การทำงานของมิติแสงสีที่ฉายภาพขึ้นใหม่ตามแต่ลักษณะของผู้ชมนั้นถือเป็นสุนทรียะใหม่ที่สามารถสะท้อนให้เห็นว่า ผลงานได้ทำให้เกิดการทบทวนหรือตั้งคำถาม เกี่ยวกับ "ตัวตน" และ "ความอิสระเสรี" ในที่สาธารณะของผู้ชมได้อย่างดียิ่ง
