Abstract:
The purposes of this research were to assess the priority needs of developing academic optimism of primary school teachers under Bangkhuntien district Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and second, to propose the approaches for developing academic optimism of primary school teachers under Bangkhuntien district Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. The Research population was teachers in school under Bangkhuntien district Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, registered during the academic year 2021. The research informants consisted of 96 administrators and teachers. The research instrument used in this study was a five-level rating scale questionnaire and five level rating scale of appropriability and possibility. The data was analyzed and presented in the forms of frequency distribution, percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, and Modified Priority Need Index (PNI [modified]), mode and contents analysis. The research results were as follows: 1) The present state of developing academic optimism of primary school teachers under Bangkhuntien district Bangkok Metropolitan Administration was performed at a high level. Whereas the highest average was Collective Efficacy and the lowest average was Collective Faculty Trust in Students and Parents. The desirable state of developing academic optimism of primary school teachers under Bangkhuntien district Bangkok Metropolitan Administration was performed at a highest level. Moreover, the highest average was Academic Emphasis, while the lowest average was Collective Faculty Trust in Students and Parents. The priority needs of developing academic optimism of primary school teachers under Bangkhuntien district Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, rank from highest to the lowest, were Collective Faculty Trust in Students and Parents (PNI [modified] = 0.411), Academic Emphasis (PNI [modified] = 0.301) and Collective Efficacy (PNI [modified] = 0.280), respectively. 2) There were 3 main approaches, 6 sub-approaches, and 18 ways to develop teachers in primary school under Bangkhuntien district Bangkok Metropolitan Administration as followed: (1) Improve Collective Faculty Trust in Students and Parents by coaching and action learning and there were 2 sub-approaches (1.1) Developing Collective Faculty Trust in Parents by coaching and action learning (1.2) Developing Collective Faculty Trust in goodwill trustworthy and honest of students by coaching and action learning (2) Developing Academic Emphasis of teachers for increasing learners achievement by coaching and action learning and there were 2 sub-approaches (2.1)Developing readiness in situations by coaching and action learning (2.2) Developing the potential of students by coaching and action learning (3) Developing Collective Efficacy of teachers by coaching and action learning and there were 2 sub-approaches (3.1) Developing devotion of teachers by coaching and action learning (3.2) Developing confidence of teachers by coaching and action learning.
