Abstract: Yunnan Province is one of the most important bases for the production and export of products in China, and it is a province with the advantages of building industrial clusters such as open economic demonstration zones in South Asia and Southeast Asia. However, since 2020, due to the impact of the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, the economic benefits of the whole society of industrial enterprises in Yunnan Province have undergone great changes compared with previous years. Industrial development status and industrial economic benefits are important indicators to measure the process of economic development in a region, and industrial enterprises above designated size are the mainstay of regional economic development, technological progress and industrial upgrading. Therefore, as a province with relatively good economic development in China, it is very necessary to conduct a dynamic evaluation on the economic benefits of industrial enterprises in Yunnan Province, and understand the impact of the novel coronavirus epidemic on the economic development of industrial enterprises above designated size in Yunnan Province, which is of great significance for promoting economic recovery and steady development of industrial enterprises in Yunnan Province. KMO test and Bartlett's sphericity test were performed on the original data using SPSS software. Then the principal component method is used to extract the common factors and try to analyze the change of economic benefits of industrial enterprises above designated size in Yunnan province.The research shows that the COVID-19 epidemic has a certain impact on the industrial economy of Yunnan Province from the profitability and solvency of the two extracted components, but with the joint efforts of the state and enterprises, the industrial economy will generally pick up.
