Abstract:
The objectives of the present study were: 1) to examine the effects of integrated
computer-assisted language learning and task-based learning activities on writing
ability of first-year high vocational certificate students. 2) to examine students
satisfaction towards learning English through integrated computer-assisted language
learning and task-based learning activities. The samples were 22 first-year high
vocational certificate students at Pakchong Commercial and Technological College
majoring in General Management. The cluster sampling method was utilized to select
the samples of the present study. The research instruments consisted of four lesson
plans based on computer-assisted language learning and task-based learning activities,
English writing ability test and satisfied questionnaire. The data were analyzed by
using mean ( ) and standard deviations (S.D.) and t-test for a dependent sample.
The results of the present study showed that the mean score of the post-test of
English writing ability test from the participants learning English through integrated
computer-assisted language learning and task-based learning activities was significantly
higher than those of the pre-test at the .05 level. Additionally, the participants were
satisfied with learning English through integrated computer-assisted language learning
and task-based learning activities.
