The purpose of this qualitative research entitled Procress of Making Saw Sam Sai by Kru Chakri Mongkol aimed to study 1. the biography related the craftsmanship of Kru Chakri Mongkol and 2. the construction processes and the factors affecting the sound quality of his Saw Sam Sai. The results revealed that his design of Saw Sam Sai was inspired by the design of Saw Sam Sai of His Royal Highness Prince Paribatra Sukhumbandhu, The Prince of Nagara Svarga and which was advised by the experts on Saw Sam Sai such as Professor Udis Narkswasdi and Charun Khotchasaeng. The Saw Sam Sai of Kru Chakri Mongkol has an excellent sound quality with a great quality of a piece that is dedicate and neat. His construction processes focused on the thickness of the stretched skin on the bout and the size of the large and thick bout. The angle of Saw Sam Sai carries the force of the string and the pressure from the bridge. The bridge and counterweight have the proper position and weight. Moreover, he has developed a unique construction method such as making the upper and lower Pak Chang (a component used for carrying the bout, as well as weight of string and the pressure of the string) with natural proportions similar to the lotus petal shape, making the neck with stainless steel, and making the bow that its head can be regulated by the string. In addition, the bow also has an elegant shape and lightweight and can loosen its tension.
