The Impact of smart homes based on IoT technology on the home furnishing industry in China developed cities
Abstract:
The rapid advancement of Internet of Things (IoT) technology has significantly impacted many companies, especially in the residential sector in the busy urban areas of China. This study investigates the influence of Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled smart homes on the urban home sector. The study examines client preferences through comprehensive surveys and rigorous data analysis. Moreover, it especially focuses on the key factors that impact the acceptance and incorporation of IoT technology in household devices. The poll evaluates a range of attributes, such as security, diversity, human-centered design, compliance with recognized standards, functionality, emotional appeal, and purchasing intentions. The study demonstrated that IoT technology plays a vital role in augmenting consumer satisfaction. It enables smooth communication between devices and guarantees efficient power optimization. Furthermore, the study also highlights the importance of security and privacy in smart home devices, a critical element in establishing customer confidence and promoting widespread acceptance. The study additionally proposes that the standardization of IoT applications is crucial to enable compatibility and smooth integration across diverse platforms and devices. A study conducted on a sample size of more than 500 individuals in Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen unveiled that the prevailing inclination among customers is to prioritize safety, diversity, and human-centric design when evaluating smart home products. Furthermore, they conveyed a substantial desire for solutions that are both integrated and user-friendly. Demographic studies indicated that middle-aged individuals exhibited a greater inclination towards embracing smart home technologies in comparison to both younger and older individuals. The study found that middle-aged individuals showed a moderate level of curiosity, but their willingness to accept and implement IoT smart homes was mostly driven by their income and educational attainment. This survey provides valuable insights to researchers and strategic support to manufacturers and retailers. The statement emphasizes the importance of adjusting consumer expectations during the product creation process in order to continually provide innovative solutions. This research has contributed to the progress of the smart home sector in metropolitan areas of China. Research has a wide-ranging impact as it addresses the challenges and possibilities posed by IoT technology. This not only provides guidance for future study, but also helps legislators in creating a favorable environment for technological progress.
