Abstract: Obesity is associated with psychological status, sleep quality, quality of life, and cognitive function in elderly, but there has been no comprehensive study of this in obese elderly. Objective: To determining the association of psychological status such as anxiety and depression, sleep quality, quality of life and cognitive function in term of memory and attention in obese elderly. Measurements: A total of 34 participants, aged 60 and over years old were divided into two groups. Anxiety status was assessed by The State-trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), depression; Thai geriatric depression scale (TGDS-15), sleep quality; Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), quality of life; QOL-AD, cognitive function; Mini-Mental State Examination: Thai version (MMSE-Thai 2002) and cognitive test by E-prime program; n-back task, go/nogo task, and Eriksen flanker task by using EEG equipment (Electroencephalogram: EEG). Results: According to the findings of this study, body mass index (BMI) was positive correlations with anxiety, depression, (higher of BMI, higher of anxiety/depression) and sleep quality (higher of BMI, lower of sleep quality). In the other hand, BMI was statistically significant negative correlations with quality of life (r = -0.848, p = 0.000) and cognitive function (r = -0.039) (higher of BMI, lower of quality of life and cognitive function). It is necessary to provide guidance for obese elderly to reduce anxiety and depression and improving their sleep quality, quality of life, and cognitive well-being.
