Relationship between School Administrators' Strategic Leadership and Academic Administration in Schools under Phuket Primary Educational Service Area Office
Abstract:
The purposes of this research were to study: 1) Strategic leadership of school administrators, 2) Academic administration in schools and 3) The relationship between school administrators' strategic leadership and academic administration in schools under the Phuket Primary Educational Service Area Office. The sample consisted of 279 schoolteachers under the Phuket Primary Educational Service Area Office. The research instrument was a 5-rating scale questionnaire with validity ranging from 0.67 to 1.00 and reliability of administrators' strategic leadership was 0.92 and Academic administration in schools was 0.93 Statistical analyses included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Pearsons product moment correlation coefficient. The findings were as follows: 1) School administrators' strategic leadership was rated in each aspect and overall, at a high level. In orderly, from highest mean to lowest mean, were organizational strategic direction-setting, strategy formulations, strategy implementation, and strategy for control and evaluation. 2) Academic administration in schools was rated in each aspect and overall, at a high level. In orderly, from highest to lowest means, were learning process development, learning outcome assessment, curriculum development, educational supervision, and educational media and technology. 3) The relationship between school administrators' strategic leadership and academic administration in schools in overall was highly positive correlation, statistically significant at the .01 level (r = .844, p ≤ .01).
