Abstract:
The purposes of this study were 1) to study the desired characteristics of educational administrators of the Office of Non-Formal and Informal Education Promotion in Yala province, 2) to compare the desired characteristics of the educational administrators, classified by gender, age, education level, and work experiences, and 3) to analyze recommendations receiving regarding the desired characteristics of the administrators. The sample group used in the independent study were personnel in educational institutions under the Desirable Characteristics of School Administrators under the Desirable Characteristics of School Administrators under the Yala Provincial Office of Non Formal and Informal Education, with 222 people. Data was collected through a questionnaire and analyzed using statistical
software, including mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Scheffes test for pairwise comparison.
The results of the research found that
1. The desired characteristics of educational administrators in the Office of Non-Formal and Informal Education Promotion, Yala Province, were generally high
2. The overall comparison of the desired characteristics, classified by gender, age, education, and work experiences, were not significantly different.
3. Suggestions of the study include: 1) The administrators should have self confidence and respect everyone, be able to make decisions confidently, be prudent in their work, and be brave. 2) In terms of relationship, the administrators should be good listeners listening to all opinions from both teachers and educational personnels involved, know how to be tactful when an incident occurs in the school as well as giving advice and consulting in a proper way. 3) for Moral and ethical aspects, administrators should adhere to the principles of accuracy, neutralize the work, be fair and treat all colleagues with fairness and equality. 4) In management aspects, the executives should be academic leaders, be knowledgeable in curriculum, course preparation, course implementation as well as course evaluation, and be able to plan and develop strategies and action plan Finaiiy, 5) the administrators should be skillful in adopting the concept and new management techniques to operate the school to be more effective and using technology in school management
