Guidelines for parental engagement based on administrator and teacher opinions towards online education management in the new normal era of educational institutions under phra nakhon si syutthaya primary educational service area office 1
Abstract:
This research aimed to: 1) investigate the current and desirable state of parental engagement based on administrator and teacher opinions towards online education management in the new normal era of educational institutions under Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Primary Educational Service Area Office 1, and 2) explore the practical approach of parental engagement based on administrator and teacher opinions towards online education management in the new normal era of educational institutions under Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Primary Educational Service Area Office 1.
The research samples consisted of 333 administrators and teachers. The key informants included six secondary school administrators and teachers. The research instruments were questionnaires and interview forms. Statistics used for data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, Priority Needs Index (PNI[subscript Modified]) . Content analysis was also used for the qualitative data analysis.
The research results revealed that: 1) the overall current state of parental engagement based on administrator and teacher opinions towards online education management in the new normal era of educational institutions under Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 was at a high level. The overall desirable state of parental engagement was at the highest level. 2) Practical approaches of parental engagement based on administrator and teacher opinion towards online education management in the new normal era of educational institutions under Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 included: (1) parenting: parents involved in caring for and promoting behaviors in the areas of the students' specialties and interests, (2) communication: teachers provided guidance and explained the benefits, importance, and use of various applications and prepared a manual for accessing the application as well as providing instructions during teaching and learning activities, (3) volunteers: schools held parent meetings to allow them to participate in the management of learners' education with schools, (4) home learning: parents must be good advisers to students by supervising, paying attention to activities and studies, and reviewing studies together with students, (5) decision-making: parents and teachers discussed and exchanged opinions on children care, promoted and solved problems involving student desirable and undesirable behaviors, (6) cooperation with the community: parents instilled good morals and mind in their children's ethics before socializing in the society and built good relationship in the family.
