Research on Mixed Office Mode of China Ctrip Company Driven by Technology and Concept --- From the Perspective of Cybernetics
Abstract:
Under the dual drive of technology and concept, hybrid office mode is born. The so-called hybrid office mode, specifically, is composed of office work and non-office work, that is, employees need to return to the office at least three days a week for on-site work, other time can choose flexible office space, such as homework.
In China, the earliest implementation of the hybrid office model is Ctrip. Founded in 1999 in Shanghai, Ctrip is a travel service provider that provides customers with accommodation reservations, transportation ticketing, package Tours and corporate travel management based on online platforms such as Internet websites and mobile apps. After more than two decades of development, Ctrip has grown into the largest online ticketing service company in China. Its annual revenue has exceeded 20 billion yuan for four consecutive years. It has been listed on Nasdaq and Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
On March 1, 2022, Ctrip officially implemented the hybrid office model. The reason for Ctrip's choice of hybrid office is simple. In order to improve employees' work efficiency, Liang Jianzhang, chairman of the board of directors of Ctrip, believes that working from home can help employees save about 8% of their time, which, if they are engaged in their work, will mean an 8% increase in their work efficiency. But do employees put that time into their work? Can employees be more engaged in their work without the atmosphere of the office? This research believes that it is not certain, which largely depends on the management ability of the company and the interaction between employees.
In this context, this paper puts forward the following research questions: First, can hybrid office definitely improve the work efficiency of employees? What are the influencing factors? This is a question raised in this paper. Secondly, under the hybrid office model, how will the relationship between enterprises and employees and between employees change? How will Ctrip remodel it? This is the second question this article attempts to answer. Finally, this paper raises the third question, what is the influence of cybernetics on the hybrid office model? Based on the classical theory, combined with the hybrid office mode implemented by Ctrip company in China, this paper analyzes its shortcomings and points out, and puts forward optimization suggestions accordingly.
Through the study found that, on the surface, implement the mixed mode of public benefits for the company and the employee have but there is no denying the fact that also faced with some problems at the same time, from the enterprise point of view, mixed office mode enterprises are faced with the problem including the fairness problem, affect the relationship between colleagues, increase the management difficulty, and increasing communication cost; From the perspective of employees, there is confusion between work and life, and the work ability needs to be improved. In view of these problems, Ctrip should change the original management and control mode, strengthen the construction of corporate culture, and be oriented to learning organization.
