Abstract:
Myanmar came into existence as a nation-state after being independent of the British Empire on 4 January 1948. Myanmar is one of the ethnically diverse states in South East Asia. The resource-rich Myanmar has been in state-building, peacemaking process since it was born and developing a strategy to end the decade-long civil war between state army and ethnic armed groups in borderlands. This thesis explores how self-autonomy helps Myanmar reduce the impact of global exploitation (peace for economic production nationwide) then looking at how the state of Myanmar exploits the Wa autonomous region case as its state making policy
