Abstract:
The research on Development of learning management system in Buddhist subjects at basic educational institutions under Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) aimed to study the learning management system in Theravada Buddhism, to develop a Buddhist learning management system at basic educational institutions under Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), and to assess the effectiveness of the Buddhist learning management system at basic educational institutions under Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA). The tools used were interviews, questionnaires, and learning management applications through Moodle: BSMARTS. Data were collected and tested by 5 school administrators under the BMA, 7 teachers, and 22 students in the experimental group. The qualitative data were analyzed by content analysis. The quantitative data were analyzed by percentage, mean, and standard deviation statistics.
The findings revealed that:
The learning management system in Theravada Buddhist scriptures can be synthesized into 6 systems and 3 categories: (1) Creating life balance, (2) Learning to develop physical, verbal and mental skills, (3) Learning to be easy, convenient, comfortable and calm, suitable for people of all ages, (4) Learning to be able to apply and implement, (5) Learning to be reasonable on accuracy and, (6) Learning to enlighten the truth and amplify real results. Items 1 and 2 can be synthesized into the category of precepts. Items 3 and 4 can be synthesized into the category of meditation. Items 5 and 6 can be synthesized into the category of wisdom.
The design of learning management system in Buddhist subjects at basic educational institutions under Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is derived from the synthesis of system requirements of school administrators, teachers and students. The Moodle application is used as a tool to import data on Grade 5 Buddhism subjects and can be displayed through the Internet through a browser and a mobile application as a medium for learning Buddhism.
According to the effectiveness of learning management system in Buddhist subjects at basic educational institutions under Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), the assessment found that (1) According to experts' opinions, the appropriateness of learning Buddhist subjects for Grade 5 was at a high level, (2) According to experts' opinions, the consistency of the Buddhist learning management system at basic educational institutions under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) was at a high level and, (3) According to experts' opinions, the evaluation of the efficiency of the Buddhist learning management system at basic educational institutions under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) was at a high level.
The results of the hypothesis test revealed that the post-test score from 18 students was 80 percent, which was higher than the specified criteria. When the total post-test score of the students was calculated according to the formula of Prof. Dr. Chaiyong Promwong, it revealed that they had scores that exceeded the specified criteria. Therefore, both hypotheses were accepted
