Abstract:
Objectives of this research were: 1. To Study accommodation management in line with the sanitation standards of monasteries at Kaeng khro District, Chaiyaphum Province, 2. To analyze the comparing results of the opinions of monks on the accommodation management in line with the sanitation standards of the monasteries at Kaeng khro, Chaiyaphum Province classified by demographic backgrounds and 3. To recommend, the solving problems and obstacles of the accommodation management in line with the sanitation standards of monasteries at Kaeng khro, Chaiyaphum Province.
Methodology was the Mixed Methods Research: The quantitative research applying the survey method and the data was collected by using questionnaires. The samples consisted of 212 monks who lived in Kaeng khro, Chaiyaphum Province. The data was analyzed by Statistical methods used for this study were frequency, percentage, standard deviation, t-test, F-test and one-way ANOVA. The qualitative research collected data from 10 key informants by in-depth interviewing. The data were analyzed by descriptive interpretation.
Findings of the research were as follows:
1. By overall, had opinions towards the accommodation management in line with the sanitation standards of monasteries at high levels (x̅=4.32, S.D.=0.358). Each aspect of the management was also high level as; Accommodation management in line with physiological Need was at high level (x̅=4.49, S.D.=0.490), Accommodation management in line with psychological Need was at high level (x̅ =4.48, S.D. =0.466), Accommodation management against communicative disease was at high level (x̅=4.23, S.D.=0.405) and accommodation management protecting against accidents was at high level (x̅ =4.08, S.D.=0.383), respectively.
2.The comparing results of the opinions of monks on the accommodation management in line with the sanitation standards of monasteries Kaenkhro, Chaiyaphum Province were found that monks with different age, years of ordination, positions, and educational level did not have different opinions at the statistical significant level at 0.05 level. So, the set hypothesis was rejected. The monks with different Dhamma and Pali educational levels had significantly different opinion at 0.05 Therefore, the set hypothesis was accepted.
3.Problems, obstacles, and suggestions for the accommodation management in line with the sanitation standards of the monasteries at Kaeng khro, Chaiyaphum Province were found that accommodation according to the physiological need, at the summer time, climate is very hot and abodes have less windows. The management according to the psychological need, there are no bushes or small gardens among abodes. Management for the safety from accidents, The abodes and rest rooms floors are so slippery. The management for safety from the communicative diseases, each abodes lacked wire-screen window to repel mosquitoes.
Recommendation: Accommodation management according to the physical need, windows and doors should be installed and wall-mounted fans should be installed for the air ventilation. Accommodation management for psychological need, there should be horticulture gardens and flowers for recordation among abodes.
Accommodation management for safety from accidents, avoidance of using slippery tiles for the abode floors and anti-slippery tiles should be installed in the rest rooms floors> Accommodation management for safety communicative diseases, wire-screen windows should be installed to prevent common house mosquitoes, communicative diseases, Monks, abbots, monastery clerks, should be trained in accommodation management according to the sanitation standards> There should be survey of safety precaution according to the sanitation standards in monasteries every six months for the benefits of the accommodation management according to the sanitation standards of monasteries at Kaeng khro District, Chaiyaphum Province.
