Abstract:
The present research was aimed at studying the best practice talent management
methods and building a talent management model for clectrical and electronics industry
companies, using mixed methods for data analyses. This exploratory sequential rescarch began
with the collection of qualitative data: interviews with the personnel related to talent management
in best-practice companies. For the purposive sampling, the snowball/ chain sampling technique
was used. The findings from the interviews led to the creation of a talent management model for
electrical and electronics industry companies. This model was then viewed by human resources
staff members in the clectrical and electronics companies in an castern seaboard industrial estate,
whose survey opinions of the model were analyzed quantitatively. The results from the qualitative
and quantitative methods indicated that the participants agreed with the talent management
model: selecting the talented personnel from the company's talent pool, from the list of
successors, and from those recommended by supervisors. The talented personnel were determined
based on their attitude, Icadership, work performance, potential, and current position. It is
suggested that they receive special opportunities for professional development: specialized
training, job shadowing, job rotation, self-development and learning, coaching through a
mentoring system, learning from experts, and receiving special duties. Motivating the talented
personnel can be done by assigning them challenging responsibilities, maintaining good
relationships, creating a good work environment, providing a free and flexible work atmosphere,
allowing them to join activities, providing rewards and opportunities for development, giving
them a chance for advancement in their career, providing them with extra job benefits, and raising
their salaries based on promotion and performance.
