Abstract:
The objectives of this research are 1) to develop a system detects a person's face by
using a local binary pattern histograms, 2) to determine the quality of the system detects a
person's face by using a local binary pattern histograms, and 3) to study the satisfaction of
users of the system detects a person's face by using a local binary pattern histograms. The samples used in this research were the villagers in Nong Makha village consisted of 30 people
who were selected using a method purposive sampling. The research tool was the quality
assessment form, satisfaction questionnaire and the system detects a person's face. The facial
recognition method was tested using the local binary pattern histograms technique and
applied to the developed system. It was found that the identification accuracy was as high as
83.8 percent and was tested with 3 light brightness conditions, which are very bright, low
brightness, turn off the light. Then, the system was evaluated for quality and assessed
satisfaction with the experimental group.
The results showed that the quality of the system detects a person's face overall, it is
in good level (𝑥̅ = 3.97, S.D. = 0.30) and satisfaction of the system overall at a high level (𝑥̅ =
3.83, S.D. = 0.07). Show that the system is suitable and can be put into practice use. Which is
in accordance with the research hypothesis set.
