Abstract:
The purposes of this research were (1) to study the level of management of religious education on Dhamma section of Sangha, Mueang District at Ratchaburi Province, (2) to compare the action level on the management of religious education on Dhamma section of Sangha, Mueang District at Ratchaburi Province by classifying according to personal factors, and (3) to study problems, obstacles, and suggestions for the management of religious education on Dhamma section of Sangha, Mueang District at Ratchaburi Province. The study was the mixed method research between quantitative and qualitative research. In term of quantitative research, it used the questionnaire as the tool to collect the data in the field study from 277 sample monks in Mueang District at Ratchaburi Province. The data were analyzed through frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation (S.D.), t-test, F-test, one-way analysis of variance. In term of qualitative research, using the documentary analysis and interview as the tools to collect the data in the field study from 9 key informants and analyzed the data through the content analysis technique.
The research results found that:
1. Management of religious education on Dhamma section of Sangha, Mueang District at Ratchaburi Province in overall, it was at a moderate level with an average of 2.96. When considering each aspect, it was found that in every aspect was at a moderate level. The aspect with the highest average was the location and environment aspect with an average of 3.31. The aspect with the lowest average was the teaching media aspect with an average of 2.61.
2. Comparative results of the management of religious education on Dhamma section of Sangha, Mueang District at Ratchaburi Province by classifying according to personal factors, it was found that status had an effect on the opinion of the management of religious education on Dhamma section of Sangha, Mueang District at Ratchaburi Province was significantly different level at 0.01. The personal factors of the people, namely age and years of ordination, had an effect on the opinion of the management of religious education on Dhamma section of Sangha, Mueang District at Ratchaburi Province was significantly different level at 0.05, and the personal factors of monks, namely general educational qualification and Dhamma educational qualification had an effect on the opinion of the management of religious education on Dhamma section of Sangha, Mueang District at Ratchaburi Province was not different.
3. Problems, obstacles, and suggestions: it was found that some of Pariyatti Dhamma teachers still lacked the ability to organize teaching and learning that focuses on students, some schools lacked of modern teaching materials such as computers, projectors, etc., some schools still lacked of measurement and evaluation with during class tests or after the lesson, and some schools lacked of the sufficient budget to purchase educational materials for the number of students. As for the suggestions, the Sangha should organize training and supervision in teaching techniques for Pariyatti Dhamma teachers by focusing on the importance of the students as the main focus, every school should support the use of modern teaching media to create student interest, the school should encourage testing before class, during class, and after the lesson, and Sangha should support a budget for purchasing educational materials or equipment according to the number of students adequately.
