Abstract:
Tourism is the major industry that generates income for Thailand. A good tourism
management will affect the whole economy of the country and people. The objective of this study were to survey and assess opportunities of tourist attractions development, and create a database of tourist attractions and routes in Chon Buri, Rayong, Chantaburi and Trat. The locations of the tourist attractions were surveyed using Global Positioning System (GPS). The database and maps of tourist attractions were made using GIS technique meanwhile tourism routes were evaluated using
Network Analysis method. The results found 57 attractions in Chon Buri, 25 in Rayong, 28 in Chantaburi, and 22 in Trat, The tourist attractions were divided into 4 types; 89 of historical attractions, 11 of cultural attractions, 20 of natural attractions and 12 of ecological attractions. Six tourist routes created from database and then they were proposed to the tourists and related offices for promoting and developing tourism in study area.
