Abstract:
This research included three parts. The first one was a study on the factors of basic needs to use natural dyes, employing Quality Function Deployment Technique (QFD). The data were analysed by House of Quality (HOQ) Process. The five highest needs were retention of dyes, controlled shading, reproducibility, easy-to-use manuals and easy and convenient use. Therefore, the researcher developed the techniques which could be used to improve the quality of products based upon the analyzed results. The techniques included the amount of anti-caking agent, the type of natural dyes plants, dehumidifying process, product information, extraction process, types of anti-caking agent and concentration process. The second part was a study on the development of instant natural dye innovation which had similar properties according to the results from the first part. The researcher chose two natural sources to use in this second part of the experiment which were golden showers and lac. The purpose of this experiment was to develop the quality of color natural dyes having retention of dyes and anti-caking. In the experiment, maltodextrin was added and found the proper concentration of Maltodextrin for golden showers and lac was 20 percent and 10 percent (w/v). The third part was a study on the acceptance of instant natural dyes innovation, using Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The result of this part was found that easy use had influence on the acceptance of instant natural dyes. From all the results, it was concluded that this study could be commercially further developed.
