Abstract:
The purpose of this research is twofold: 1. To study the effects of changes resulting from the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) Development Plan on the community of Phanat Nikhom Municipality, Phanat Nikhom District, Chonburi Province. 2. To identify management strategies to support the EEC Development Plan. Qualitative historical research methodology was employed, involving key informants categorized into five groups and Focus group discussions, and non-participatory observations. The research findings indicate that changes resulting from the EEC Development Plan have impacted Phanat Nikhom Municipality and its community in Phanat Nikhom District, Chonburi Province. The study began by exploring the historical background of Phanat Nikhom District and Phanat Nikhom Municipality in Chonburi Province. The municipality's principles of creating a livable city were categorized into four aspects: 1. A Livable City, 2. Happy People, 3. Sustainable Environment, and 4. Municipality of Learning. These principles led to changes in Phanat Nikhom Municipality and its community as influenced by the EEC Development Plan. Furthermore, this research suggests city management approaches to support the EEC Development Plan in Phanat Nikhom Municipality and its community in Chonburi Province. These approaches include: 1. Safe City Management, 2. Clean City Management, 3. Quality of Life City Management, 4. Cultural City Management, and 5. Civic Governance City Management.
