ACTION RESEARCH ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF READING SKILLS BASED ON ASSESSMENT GUIDELINES ON LEARNERS READING PROFICIENCY FOR GRADE 1 STUDENTS USING INTEGRATED LEARNING MANAGEMENT
Abstract:
The purposes of the research were 1) to develop reading lesson plans based on
assessment guidelines to measure learners reading proficiency using a reading test (RT) for grade 1
students requiring the efficiency criteria of 80/80; 2) to compare the proficiency of reading skills
based on assessment guidelines to measure learners reading proficiency u a reading test (RT)
for grade 1 students before and after learning. The sample selected by purposive sampling consisted
of seven grade 1 students at Ban Duea School under the Srisaket Primary Educational Service Area
Office4, in the first semester of academic year 2022. The research instruments were comprised of
(1) lesson plans, (2) a handbook used to develop the reading skills, (3) a reading test, and (4) a
reading assessment form. The information obtained was analyzed using percentage, mean, and
standard deviation.
The results revealed that: 1) the reading lesson plan efficiency was found to be 84.76/
82.0,0 which met the required criteria of 80/80; 2) that the amount of students reading proficiency
after learning was found to be higher than that of the students before learning. The effectiveness
index (E.I) was 0.6912, meaning that the student scores after learning were higher than the scores
before learning (69.12 percent improvement).
