Abstract:
The purposes of this research were to: 1) examine the current state and the desired state of promoting empathy of administrators under Secondary Educational Service Area Office Prachinburi Nakhon Nayok, and 2) propose guidelines to promote empathy of administrators.
The sample group of this research, selected using stratified random sampling, consisted of 334 administrators and teachers in schools under Secondary Educational Service Area Office Prachinburi Nakhon Nayok. The research instrument was a dual response questionnaire. The data were analyzed by the statistical analysis of mean, and standard deviation, Priority Needs Index (PNI Modified) and content analysis.
The research results revealed that: 1) the current state of promoting empathy of administrators was at the moderate level, and the desired state of promoting empathy of administrators was at the highest level. Additionally, 2) the guidelines to promoting empathy of administrators included the following items: (1) being a good listener who pays attention to the feelings of teachers, (2) developing observation skills to anticipate the communication of the teacher's thoughts, ( 3 ) applying moral principles and operational ethics, (4) focusing on the use of questions appropriate to the situation, and (5) displaying behaviors that make teachers feel relaxed when facing problems.
