The Role in community affairs of female leader of the Paka-Kyaw ethnic group in The Jurisdiction of Omkoi Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Omkoi District, Chiang Mai Province
Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to study the social and ethnic context in the area of Omkoi Subdistrict Administrative Organization. To study the role of women leaders in community affairs and analyzing the role of women leaders and power relations. By specifically studying women's roles in sub-district administrative organizations, government, and village health volunteers (VHVs) which are considered the three main organizations involved in community affairs. This study is a qualitative study that used data from in-depth interviews with women leaders. The data will be analyzed according to the conceptual framework to be able to answer research questions. The results showed that the family's political background, specific knowledge, and past performance play an important role in making women a leader in society. Women leaders play a prominent role in coordinating with villagers and educating people, particularly in the field of public health.
