Abstract:
This objectives research are (1) to study the real reason of Rohingya smuggling (2) To study the impact of Rohingya maritime smuggling on Maritime National Security and (3) To study the ways and appropriate methods for solving the illegal immigration problem of Rohingya smuggling in Thailand in a sustainable way. This research is the qualitative research by using In-depth interview which were interview with stakeholders who related in this field and including with studying the related research ideas and theories for design the interview questions. The results shown as Rohingya immigration that has been shifting through more maritime routes but stopover in Thailand has become lower. The originating is from Rakhine state, Myanmar to the destination country which are Malaysia or Indonesia by use Thailand as a transit and sometimes as a destination as well. The cause of Rohingya smuggling has transformed from economic reason to the right, citizenship and oppression including violence in Rakhine state instead which root of the reasons are from the original country. The research could summarize the impact of Rohingya smuggling on the Maritime National Security that moderately negative effects which has implications for the marine safety and involved in transnational crimes, human trafficking, using a boat without flag and the maritime immigration which are a consequence of land security.
