Abstract:
In the present situation, the society is rapidly changing in all aspects, including the aspects of economy, politics, way of life of people, social and environment, and the advancement of technology. These changes occur continuously and complicatedly. Therefore, it seems to be more necessary for people in every age group to become lifelong learners. This is because lifelong learning could enable them to have adequate and up-to- date knowledge and information to use for adjusting themselves and facing with those changes properly. This paper will focus on promoting students in higher education institutions to be lifelong learners due to this group is the main power group for country development in the future. The proposed guideline for promoting lifelong learning skills among students is employing self-directed learning process through their study programs and additional learning activities in the forms of non-formal and informal education. Finally, they will become continuing lifelong learners.
