Abstract:
The purposes of this research were to: 1) Create and determine the curriculum effectiveness index of the curriculum to enhance English for speaking communicative ability by using role play approach for fifth-grade students. 2) Study the results from curriculum to enhance English for speaking communicative ability by using role play approach for fifth-grade students. The research was pre-experimental research and the pattern used in the experiment was one-group pre-test post-test design. The samples group used fifth-grade students, of Lamphun Education Area District Office 1 in the second semester in the academic year 2021 of Watmuangnga School, 22 students. This was obtained from simple random sampling. The research instruments were the curriculum, the curriculum manual and the speaking communicative ability test. The statistics used for analyzed using percentage, mean, and standard deviation T-test dependent.
The results of the research were found as follows:
1. The curriculum to enhance English for speaking communicative ability by using role play approach for fifth-grade students consisted of 7 elements 1) problem statement 2) principle of curriculum 3) aims of curriculum 4) content structures consisted of 7 units (1) Greeting (2) At the market (3) Giving direction and (4) Talking on a phone 5) activity 6) materials resources and learning sources and 7) measurement and evaluation. The level of the overall appropriateness of the curriculum was high. The level of the overall appropriateness of curriculum's manual was high and the effectiveness of learning according to the curriculum was 0.7036
2. Students who have studied with the curriculum to enhance English for speaking communicative ability by using role play approach had a statistically higher average score for speaking communicative ability after study at the level of .05
