Abstract:
The objectives of this research were to develop and determine the effectiveness of the development of an enrichment curriculum on consonant clusters writing using TGT techniques with brain based learning for grade II students, and to study the effect of implementing the development of an enrichment curriculum on consonant clusters writing using TGT techniques with brain based learning for grade II students. The sample was 34 grade 2 students of one classroom at Banmai (Sombattaweeprachasun) School, located in Wang Chin District, Phrae Province under the supervision of Phrae Primary Educational Service Area Office 2. The sample was selected based on a cluster random sampling. The research instruments were curriculum, curriculum manual and test to measure consonant clusters writing. Data were analyzed using statistics, including mean, percentage, standard deviation, and t-test.
The results of the research indicated as follows:
1. The enrichment curriculum on consonant clusters writing using TGT techniques with brain based learning for grade II students consisted of 7 components, 1) background and significance, 2) principles, 3) objectives, 4) content structure, 5) curriculum learning activities process, 6) materials / learning resources, and 7) measurement and evaluation. The results of the quality examination by experts revealed that the appropriateness of the developed curriculum was at a high level (x ̅ = 4.49, S.D. = 0.57) and the effectiveness index of the developed curriculum was 0.7709.
2. A mean score on consonant clusters writing of the respondents taught with the developed curriculum at a posttest period was higher than before with a statistical significance level of .05.
