Abstract
The objectives of this research were 1.) To study the social reflections on beliefs in blessings Chants of Lanna and Lan Chang culture. 2.) To study the social reflections on the way of life in blessings Chants of Lanna and Lan Chang culture, and 3.) To study the social reflection on values in blessings Chants of Lanna and Lan Chang culture. The research is a qualitative research which its data collected from 63 chapters in blessings chants of Thai Lanna culture and 62 chapters in blessings chants of Laos Lan Chang culture.
The result of the research shows that the social reflections that appear in blessings chants of the Lanna and Lan Chang culture are as follows: 1.) Social reflections on beliefs include beliefs about morale, ghost belief, Sacred beliefs, belief in hell, heaven, belief in auspiciousness inauspiciousness and belief in karma. There are similarities in both cultures but the obvious difference is the number of souls. According to the Lanna culture in Thailand mentioned the number of souls in blessings chants that there are only 32 morale, but the soul in blessing chants in to the Laos Lan Chang culture shows that there were 30, 32, and 90 morale. 2.) Social reflections on the way of life include lifestyle in occupation, consumption, childcare and interaction with neighbors. There are many similarities in both cultures which show the ways of rural life in the past, it was clearly in all aspects. 3. Social reflection of values include values of gratitude, honorary, fame, money, dress, respect for elders and education. There are similarities in both cultures but there is the difference in the part of the modern education value, it appeared in the Lan Chang culture due to the opening of Laos country which allowed Laos people can go to study in abroad.
