Influences of attitude and information perception on participation in community development by people in Khlong Hok sub-district, Khlong Luang district, Pathum Thani province
Abstract:
Community development is influenced by personal factors and to examine the effects of
attitude and information perception among people who participate in community development.
The sample group used in this study comprised 405 people who live in the area
of Khlong Hok sub-district, Khlong Luang district, Pathum Thani province. The instrument
used to collect data was a questionnaire. Statistical methods used to analyze the data were percentage, mean, standard deviation, independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA,
Pearsons correlation coefficients and multiple linear regression analysis.
The study results revealed that most of the respondents were female aged from
50 to 59 years old. They had an elementary education level, had a career in agriculture, had an average monthly income of 5,001 to 15,000 Baht, and had resided in the area for 10 years or more. The results of hypothesis testing showed that differences in the personal factors of age, occupation, monthly income, and residence period influenced their participation in community development at a statistically significant level of .05 Furthermore, it was found that attitude and information perception among these people demonstrated positive effects on their participation in community development at a statistically significant level of .01 and could predict the participation rate in community development at 49.6%.
