Abstract:
ABSTRACT
This research aimed to: 1) study the level of power of educational institution administrators; 2) study the performance standards of teachers; and 3) analyze the power of educational institution administrators affecting the performance standards of teachers. The sample consisted of 271 government teachers in educational institutions under Suphan Buri Primary Educational Service Area Office 2, derived by proportional stratified sampling distributed by district. The research instrument was a questionnaire. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, standard deviation, and stepwise multiple regression.
The findings of this research were as follows:
1. The power of school administrators was at a high level, both overall and in specific aspects. The aspects were reference power, legal power, reward-providing power, expertise power, power by position, personal power, and enforcement power, respectively.
2. The teachers performance standard were at a high level, both overall and in specific aspects. The aspects were relationships with parents and communities, learning management, and performance of teachers duties, respectively.
3. The powers of educational institution administrators in the aspects of reward-providing power (X2), power by position (X6), and reference power (X5) predicted teachers performance standards at the percentage of 44.30% with statistical significance level at .01. The equation could be written as follows:
