A study of Academic Administration of Primary School under the Educational office Bangkok Metropolitan Authority with the Ordinary National Test (O-NET) score higher than the National Test in Every Subject
Abstract:
The objectives of this study were to study states and problems of the academic administration of primary schools under the auspice of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration with the Ordinary National Test (O-NET) score higher than the National Test score in every subject. The population of this study were 89 school directors, 89 deputy directors in academic affairs, and 712 heads of subject areas from 89 schools. The instrument used was the questionnaire and data were analyzed by using percentage.
The research results showed with regard to school academic procedure, academic plans were formulated and prepared. In term of school curriculum management, the school curriculum was developed and reformed, while in school supervisory were approached for academic supervision, and the guidelines were determined for measurement and evaluation. Technology, innovation, and learning resource management were created, developed and utilized. In term of research for educational quality development, the policies on classroom research were employed. With regard to community participation in promoting school academic strength, school board members were promoted to participate in learning activities. Finally, administrative roles through quality assurance were determined for school quality assurance and academic procedure. With regard to problem occurring in some school, data showed that budget were inadequate in academic planning, while in school curriculum management, supervisory techniques were inappropriated, and budget spent for instructional activities were inadequated in instructional management. In term of in school supervision, the quality of supervisory instruments were unstandardized, while in measurement and evaluation, lack of guideline for results utilization. With regard to technology, innovation, and learning resources development, budget was inadequated, also lack of supporting in research for educational quality development, while the unspecified roles of school board members was found in community participation in promoting school academic strength. Finally, lack of evaluating skills among personnel in school quality assurance procedure.
