Abstract:
Objectives of this research were: 1. To study the general conditions of Sangha residence management for status upgrading to monastery of Sangha Order in Ratchaburi Province, 2. To study the components of Sangha residence development for status upgrading to monastery of Sangha Oder in Ratchaburi Province and 3. To propose a model of Sangha residence development for status upgrading to be monastery of Sangha Order in Ratchaburi Province.
Methodology was the qualitative method, collected field data from administrators of Sangha Organization in Ratchaburi Province, involved administrator, personnel of government organizations, community leader, representatives of civil society organizations including religious scholars and academics in Buddhist management by selecting a specific model based on the representation characteristics of the appropriate group of 33 people. Data were collected from 25 key informants, purposefully selected with structured in-depth-interview script with Scale Validity Index (S-CVI) of 1.00 as a tool for data collection and analyzed the data by contextual content for context analyzing. Data were also collected from 8 participants who were qualified persons in focus group discussion and analyzed by contextual content analysis techniques.
Findings of this research were as follows:
1. The present general conditions of Sangha residence management to raise the status to be monastery of Sangha Order in Ratchaburi Province was found that: Strengths, Sangha organizations closely took care at all levels of administrators for etc. Weaknesses, some Sangha residences had the financial problems etc. Opportunities, people in every area wanted to have monastery in their community, etc. and Threats, the process of considering permission to use the land in the ownership of various government agencies is with many strict rules and many operational steps, etc.
2. The components of Sangha residence development to raise the status to be monastery of Sangha Order in Ratchaburi Province were found that: Man aspect, for example, the residence caretakers and the monk personnel had to have qualifications in terms of both Gantha-dhura and Vipassan -dhura, etc., Money aspect, all involved parties had to refrain from acquiring money from Sangha residence in the way which was wrong or causing disgrace, etc. Materials aspect, all involved parties must provide an suitable atmosphere and environment within Sangha residence etc. Management aspect, all stakeholders must work together legally for the benefit and happiness of the public as the important matter.
3. The model of Sangha residence development to upgrade the status to be monastery of Sangha Order in Ratchaburi Province was found that it was a form of accommodation management for monks to be ready for upgrading to Buddhist monastery according to the "Ministry Regulations on the creation, establishment, integration, relocation and dissolution of monasteries. Requesting a royal grant of Wisukhamasima and raising an abandoned temples to become a monastery where monks could live in during the Buddhist Lent 2016. Emphasis was placed on the development of the Sapp ya 7 that contributed to building readiness for upgrading to Buddhist monastery which consisted of v sa-sapp ya, Suitable abode, such as the preparation of a construction plan for the building that met the standards and was legal, etc., Gocara-sapp ya Suitability of internal and external travel, such as the arrangement of protection and security systems within the monastic accommodation area, etc., Bhassa-sapp ya, Suitablility of propagating the Buddha Dhamma, such as propagating the Buddha Dhamma without being perverted from the way of the original Dhamma, etc., Puggala-sapp ya, Suitablility of personnel, such as the promotion of education to raise the level of knowledge and competence of religious persons both secular and religious, etc. Bhojana-sapp ya, Suitablility of food, including organizing measures to eliminate food waste and waste disposal that was hygienic, etc., Utu, Suitability of atmosphere and environment, including the arrangement of the atmosphere and the environment conducive to enhancing the mind to be clean, bright, peaceful, etc., Iriy patha, Suitability of activities and operations, such as organizing activities with the emphasis on stakeholders participation in accordance with the principles of V,M,S, Village, Monastery, School or Borvorn. etc.
