Abstract:
The objectives of this research were 1. to study the general condition of temple management and the efficiency of temple administration of the abbots in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, 2. to study the factors related to the temple management efficiency of the abbots in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province and 3. To present the development of temple management efficiency of the abbot in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province using integrated research methodology, comprising qualitative research; By in-depth interviews with 18 key informants or people, group discussions with only 10 experts or people, descriptive data analysis. quantitative research Data were collected by questionnaire with a sample of 310 monks in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. The statistics used in the data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. Deviation (SD) and inferential statistics to analyze the Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient to study the direction and relationship of variables.
Findings were as follows:
1. The general condition in the temple administration according to the roles and duties of the abbot of the temple in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, in general, has a good operational level. At a high level, there was an average (x-bar = 3.81, S.D. = .296). There are four performance indicators, namely quality of work, amount of work, time spent and budget. Overall, it was at a high level with an average value (x-bar = 3.50, S.D. = .219). As for the Buddhist principles applied in the temple management, overall, it was well used. At a high level as well (x-bar 3.61, S.D. = .291)
2. Factors related to the efficiency of temple administration in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, it was found that the temple management according to the authority of the abbot was related to the efficiency of temple administration in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. The statistically significant positive at 0.01 level and the 4 Dharma Physical Principles were correlated with the efficiency of temple management in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. The positive was statistically significant at the 0.01 level as well.
3. Developing the efficiency of temple management of the abbots in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province There are four indicators which are 1) Quality of work (Quality) 2) Quantity of work (Quantity) 3) Time (Time) 4. Costs There are two important components that promote work performance. Firstly, the performance of duties in accordance with the roles and duties of the abbot of the temple in four aspects: (1) the maintenance of the temple; Organize business and religious treasures of the temple to go well; (2) to supervise and supervise the monks and lay people who live or reside in the temple to comply with the rules and regulations; and lay people (4) to provide reasonable convenience in performing merit making; and secondly, the integration of the four principles of Buddhadharma-Bala with the administration of the temple, namely 1) Panya-Bala 2) Viriya-Bala 3) Anavaj 4) Sanggaha-bala Therefore, in order to develop the efficiency of temple management, there are 3 important factors: 1. Performing duties 2. Effectiveness 3. Dharma principles will lead to the development of temple management efficiency.
