Abstract:
The objectives of this research were: 1. To study and analyze the general context of cultural tourism development of temples In Nonthaburi province, 2. To study the elements of cultural tourism development of temples In Nonthaburi province and 3. To propose the cultural tourism development of temples In Nonthaburi province. The research methodology was mixed methods research between qualitative and quantitative research. The qualitative research conducted by in-depth interviewing the 17 key informants which selected by specific and focus group discussion with the 9 experts. The qualitative data analysis was descriptive analysis. The quantitative research conducted by studying 384 by accidence sampling. The sample size used Cochran's formula. The tools used for data collection were 5 rating scales questionnaire with confidence value at 0.919. The statistics used frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation.
The research findings were as follows:
1. The general context of cultural tourism development of temples In Nonthaburi province found that strengths aspect included there are many temples that were ready to develop into tourist attractions and Buddhists cooperated for temple developing, weakness aspect included Lack of personnel with specialized knowledge and lack of sufficient budget, opportunity aspect include the people were more interested in cultural tourism and Tourism Promotion Association in the province supported and obstacle aspect included Lack of Sangha's policy on cultural tourism development and lack of agencies that are specifically responsible.
2. The elements of cultural tourism development of temples In Nonthaburi province found that The level of development factors 4M in overall was at a high level (x̅ = 4.08). When considering each aspect, it was at a high level in all aspects, the level of Sappāya 4 in overall was at a high level (x̅ = 3.92). When considering each aspect, it was at a high level in all aspects. The elements of factors 4M found that man aspect; personnel selection matched the job, money aspect; allocating the sufficient budget for management, material aspect; sufficient supply of necessary materials and management aspect; establish a dedicated executive committee. The elements of Sappāya 4 found that Āvāsa-Sappāya; the sights were clean and clear, Āhāra-Sappāya; the sights had a flea market, restaurants for tourists, Puggala-Sappāya; arrange for tourist guides and Dhamma-Sappāya; public relations department provided accurate and complete information.
3. Cultural tourism development of temples In Nonthaburi province found that the value of a tourist attraction aspect; the sights show that it was Buddhism and the sights were historical significance, ease of access aspect; Traveling to the sights was convenient and the sights were in the area not far from the community, facilities aspect; there were all basic amenities and handicap facilities were available, environment aspect; the sights were clean and clear and there was no pollution that will interfere with tourism, restrictions on accepting tourists aspect; the number of visitors was set to suit the attractions and there were sufficient utilities for the number of tourists and the current reputation aspect; there was widespread publicity and there were sacred objects and important places.
