Abstract:
The purpose of this research to study the model of cultural heritage management in beliefs and rituals which are focused on the Shrine Khun Sattha Ban Thakhae, Thakhae Village. The qualitative research collected all data in the field using participated action and non-participated action in ritual, formal and informal deep interviews, and focused group discussions with key informants from May 3-6, 2017. It was discovered that there were some rituals which occurred at the shrine area to establish a sacred space of the village that are related to Khun Sattha's belief, and the villagers can announce the possession of the belief and rituals through annual Rong Khru ritual too. At present, Phatthalung provincial authority supports in developing the shrine as a cultural tourist attraction, Rong Khru ritual is an annual tourist worship in the province as mandated from the local tourism development policy of the government. However, Thakhae villagers are also the core leaders for managing the activities and protecting the value of spiritual beliefs and holy rituals in this area, including preserving the relationship among all villagers and keeping them united. Thus, the shrine will be respected by inner villagers and tourists through time
