Abstract:
This research has developed a new technique in manual control to control the flexible system into another position in order that system response is accurate, precise and without vibration. Input shaping technique has designed a filter by using the destructive interference principle where impulse responses cancel one another resulting in zero residual vibration. Input shaper filter designed from the natural frequencies and damping ratio of the system in order that the new input signal does not excited the system resonance. Moreover, interfering with disturbance signals, noise signals and hard nonlinearities of the system by placing the input shaper filter in the loop. On the other hand, input shaping technique has term of time delay. In case of practice, time delay caused the system uncontrollable. For this reason. This research proposed a new technique, which applies the Smith predictor to remove the effect of time delay from the feedback loop. From experimental results with the two-link pendulum, a new proposed technique could achieve faster maneuvering time without time delay and oscillation of two-link pendulum reduced when compared with traditional control techniques.
