Abstract:
This research aimed to develop program to promote love in adolescent family. The process was Divided into 2 phases; program development and testing program. The forst phase aimed to Develop content and process of the program. Literature review; researchers previous research results from adolescents, parents, and teachers; and the results of the focus group of 5-volunteer Adolescents and their families were incorporate in the program, Finally, the program contains of 8 components including 1) our family 2) role and responsibility of family member 3) built up love in family by communication 4) bonding development among family member by family activities 5) expression of love and caring for each other 6) reinforcement among family members 7) tress management and 8) commitment to our family: love and relationship day. These components were used to create 8 group activities for adolescents and their families, and each activity requires 60-90 minutes to be completed. The second phase aimed to test the program. One group pretest-posttest follow up design was selected. Fifteen adolescents and their families participated in the program. The family love enhancement was evaluated 3 times at baseline, after finishing program and 1 month later by the family love enhancement scale developed by the researcher. Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA repeated measures. The result showed that family love enhancement score after finishing program and follow up were significant higher than the score at baseline (p< .001). Moreover, Bonferroni indicated the significant different between pre-program and after program as well as pre-program and follow up (p<.001). Recommendations include widely test the program to promote love in adolescent family in various adolescent risk groups such as substance abuse, low achievement, and aggressive behavior.
