The circulation of water at the Chao Phraya River mouth was mainly affected by tidal current. The objectives of this study were: the tidal current pattern which was predicted by Princeton Ocean Model 2D (POM), and model calibration by the comparison of suspended particle distribution pattern with THEOS satellite images. The size of study was Chao Phraya River mouth covered in WGS84 UTM zone 47P 1345871N-1492021N and 662724E-773724E. The grid was 65 82 with mesh size of 300 m approximately 480 km2 . It was the open area connected to the upper of Thailand. The type of tide around this area was mixed tide. Three conditions of study base on water variation which was enforced into the model: (case1) south boundary; (case 2) south boundary and east boundary and (case 3) south boundary, east boundary and west boundary. It found that the predicted water height in case 3 were similar to the observed water height more than the other cases both period and range. The velocity of water and the pattern of tidal current in the west part of the model looked similar to observed chasing buoys pattern but the east part of model was not smooth enough. The unstable and incomplete of the boundary conditions might be the cause of these problems. However, when the velocity of the tidal current was applied to the distribution of suspended particle model, the magnitude of suspended particle and pattern of distribution of suspended particle was quite similar to the THEOS satellite images of sediment dispersion.
