Abstract:
The aims of this study were investigated physical characteristics, chemical quality and phytochemical in upland rice seed derived from planted no the soil amendment and amendment area by added organic fertilizer (fermented from rice straw and bamboo soil: OF). The upland rice varieties were grown in ethnic minority (Pa-gha-ker-yor) farmers field at Hua-Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan province. The results showed that overview of upland rice varieties in this study showed the soil amendment with OF not affected on physical, chemical quality and phytochemical. These parameters have some change in some varieties and each hereditary has different responsiveness such as the soil amendment with OF were not effected to the physical characteristics in the seed of Nah San(p>0.05). But the seed of Beu Soo Ser Lah, Bue Gaw Bi, Pae Taw Ta Gi Di, Baw Pea Soo, Gi Poo, Nai Luang and Aung Jerng Yai varieties treated OF had significantly increased in weight per seed (p≤0.05). However, different treated soil was not effected to a shape of upland rice seed. The results of phytochemical showed that the soil amendment with OF not affected to -tocopherol and -oryzanol of all upland rice varieties (p>0.05) except Beu Gaw Bi, Gi Poo and Aung Jerng Yai varieties. Pae Taw Gaw Bi variety treated OF had significantly increased in phytosterol (Campesterol,Stigmasterol, -sitosterol and Total phytosterol) (p≤0.05). Analysis Correlation of each parameters between upland rice planted no the soil amendment and treated OF revealed that chemical quality (moisture, fat, phytic acid and copper except amylose) are parameters affected due to treated OFbydifferent in each upland rice varieties. Physical characteristics and phytochemical both low affected from treated OF which may be main controlled by hereditary. However, the results indicated that Nai Luangvariety had increased to weight per seed, medium-amylose and contained the highest amount of total phenolic content (153.25 mg GAE/100g DW) DPPH (771.24 mg TE/100g DW ) and FRAP (1079.51 mgFeSO4/100g DW). Therefore, Nai Luang variety is rice variety should be encouraged to cultivate and consume. However, farmers can use their own organic fertilizer. It does not affect on physical characteristics and phytochemical of upland rice seed.
