Abstract:
The purpose of this research were to study form and network of propagation Buddhism of Dhammacarika in Thai society. The objectives were 1) to study form and network of proactive propagation Buddhism of Dhammacarika in Thai society 2) to develop the activities and network of proactive propagation Buddhism of Dhammacarika in Thai society 3) to strengthen form and network of propagation Buddhism of Dhammacarika in Thai society. This was mixed methods research. It combines 4 types as documentary research, quantitative research, qualitative research and action research. The sample population in quantitative research, chosen by 69 Dhammacarika at the Dhammacarika Workshop. The sample population in qualitative research and action research, chosen by 80 key informants; the 6 Senior Executive of Dhammacarika Project, ๖๙ Advisory of Dhammacarika and 5 Executive Level of The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security. The result shown that
1. There were 3 forms of propagation Buddhism of Dhammacarika in Thai society.
a) The first form of propagation Buddhism of Dhammacarika was classified by mission. Dhammacarika Project was set up between the cooperation of clergy, the approval of Sangha Supreme Council, association and the Government. The government was Department of Public Welfare, Ministry of Interior (Department of Social Development and Welfare, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security at present). The Department was emphasized on Bhuddism doctrine. It was applied for providing the assistance and development of life of people in Highland. There were too many social problems in the past for example deforestation, opium growing, instigation of communism. The Department of Public Welfare was assigned to invite the monks to play the important roles for people in Highland. The monk was a symbol of devotion belief and consciousness cultivation in Nation, Religious and the King and also deepen comprehension among people since 1965. The propagation Buddhism of Dhammacarika in highland were the most effectively. The operation was covered nationwide; 16 provinces in the northern and upper central of Thailand. There are totally ๓๐๐ Dhammacarika within ๓๑๕ hermitages. There were 2 parts of management. They were the Central and the Regional sector. The Central sector act as the unit of formulate policies and strategic plans. The Regional sector act as the practical level.
b) The second form of propagation Buddhism of Dhammacarika was classified by volunteer. The Dhammacarika emphasized on mission, goal. activity, and public benefits concerning the propagation Buddhism fir people in Highland. The generosity, sacrifice of time, physical and mental energy to propagate Buddhism led into the useful and happy within society. Dhammacarika became volunteer. Some Dhammacarika Committee went out to give encourage the regional sector and also provided public welfare for people in the highlands. There were many activities about the visiting such as the Dhammacarika at local level or the Southern Sangha gave the 4 basic necessities to Dhammacarika and the needed consumption for people in highlands annually. The network of propagation Buddhism of Dhammacarika was expanded.
c) The general form of propagation Buddhism of Dhammacarika was classified by generality. It means that Dhammacarika act full-function role. They live within the local hermitage. They are the focal point of the developing activities of people within the area. To become the one. The hermitage was the completely developed in physical side.
2. The activities development and networking of proactive propagation Buddhism of Dhammacarika in Thai society
The 69 Dhammacarika were chosen through the workshop. The 69 Dhammacarika were selected from the operational unit from the Royal Scholarship Project. They were be trained by development process. There were 4 dimensions. They were 1) the process of enhancing the knowledge of the Dhammacarika 2) the process of enhancing the skills of proactive Buddhism propagation to the Dhammacarika 3) the process of group and network partners for the active propagation of Buddhism of the Dhammacarika ๔) the process of participation of all parties. The 69 Dhammacarika attended the training courses in both theory practice meditation and field operations. The result of group discussion led into the effective and efficiency form and networking of proactive propagation Buddhism of Dhammacarika
3. The strengthen form and network of propagation Buddhism of Dhammacarika in Thai society. The result of the workshop and the outlook of the expertise sampling shown that 1) the general form of propagation Buddhism of Dhammacarika;
2) a model for using the principles of public welfare or volunteering to help in various forms and applying Buddhist Dharma principles. The integration of Dhamma was applied and led to both physical and metal development;
3) forms of creating network partners to work with participation. The cooperation between networking was achieved.
4) the forms for using faith-leading activities. The integration of Dhamma was applied into many activities.
Dhammacarika had 3 types of a network to support the performance of duties. They were 1) area network 2) issue network 3) network by functional structure. Udom-Goal Model was found from this study. (U Unit of concept /D Development strategy /O Organization network / M Management in process)
