Abstract:
The Research on Creation of Added Value of Organic Agricultural Products of Yaicha community in Sampran district of Nakhonpathom province was aimed at1) Studying the pattern of organic agricultural products of Yaicha community in Sampran district of Nakhonpathom province; 2) Promoting the processing of organic agricultural products of Yaicha community in Sampran district of Nakhonpathom province; and 3) Proposing the pattern of creation of added value of organic agricultural products of Yaicha community in Sampran district of Nakhonpathom province. This Research was a qualitative research. Significant data providers were staff of public sector units and community leaders of Yaicha community in Sampran district of Nakhonpathom province, totally 15 people, collecting data from in-depth interview and focus group discussion. According to the research result, it was found that:
1. Regarding patterns of organic agricultural products of Yaicha community, community farmers initially grew coconut trees, guava trees, mango trees, banana trees and raised ducks and chicken for household consumption and distribution but the distribution channels were limited and the majority of those products were distributed within the community. As a result, their products overflew the market, and farmers still lacked knowledge and understanding of food processing and preservation and creation of added value. Therefore, Yaicha sub district Administrative Organization and organizations in different sections had the policy of organizing activities for promotion of farmer know-how and implementing projects for enhancement and development of change agents (Khok Nong Na Model) and teaching on vegetable growing and raising of economic animals, processing of products and establishment of the learning center of community organic farm, namely Thung Thammana Na Farm Chumchon, and it was driven for promotion of pattern of creation of added value of organic agricultural products; 1) Regarding the value addition of products, their products overflew the market and farmers lacked the development of patterns of their products and could distribute their products in a limited circle; 2) Regarding plain packaging, their product packages could not attract consumers attentions; 3) Regarding marketing problems, farmers lacked guidelines for management and could distribute their products in a limited circle, farmers and community product operators still lacked their networks, advertising and public relations.
2. Regarding the promotion of processing of organic agricultural products of Yaicha community, Yaicha sub district Administrative Organization and related units launched the project brainstorming, reducing expenses and increasing Incomes in cooperation with the community, and specialists and community wise people were invited for teaching on processing of foods in different patterns from local wisdom, which created jobs and generated incomes by creating channels of distribution and developing products for distribution, which can be summarized, as follows:
1) Regarding the value addition of products, Yaicha sub district Administrative Organization, academics and related personnel, Chor Heng Noodle Factory, in cooperation with community leaders, farmers and operators, jointly determined the standard of patterns of production, processing and distribution and required that products must be clean, safe and standardized. On this occasion, farmers introduced salted egg products for development and extension; 2) Regarding packaging, their packages of products were more beautiful and outstanding and farmers developed unique logos from legends of Yaicha community as their brand of products; 3) Regarding marketing, farmers initiated the trial production and distribution of their products and attracted more consumers attentions and positive consumers feedbacks because salted eggs could be developed and extended as varieties of products, which could be summarized, as follows: organic agricultural products could be processed for value addition and distribution at higher prices. patterns of production have been promoted with exact guidelines, and farmers could reduce their expenses and could increase their incomes and create employment and networks of production groups and consumers through community participation process and channel of marketing in social media, advertising and public relations. Farmers developed a Facebook page, namely, Yaicha Salted Eggs and had more markets. Farmers could sell their products on embankment of the Dam or at Wat Sanpetch Market, Don Wai Market, Suk Jai market, Thung Thamna and set up their sales booths in agricultural product trade fairs.
3. Presentation of patterns and processes of creation of value of products in Yaicha community; 1) Regarding the value addition of products, farmers created the participation processes in developing patterns of community products;
2) Regarding packaging, farmers developed beautiful, outstanding and unique packages with community logos; 3) Regarding marketing, farmers established their networks and had more markets for distribution of their organic agricultural products and created their networks of producer and consumer groups and developed a Facebook page, namely,Yaicha Salted Eggs based on guidelines of 4-M (Materials/Man/Machine/Method) principles for maximum efficiency and cost reduction in processing of their organic agricultural products. For Materials, farmers could manage their raw materials and supplies and had their planning for adequate raw materials for the production process. For Man, farmers could allocate their personnel and maximize their work skills and could distribute their incomes properly and in accordance with their costs, including maintenance of quality of their products. For Machine, farmers could manage and supply materials and tools which were parts of their operations and could also manage buildings and workplaces to facilitate the operations for increase of productivity and could developed effective working procedures with effective management, planning, follow-up, audit and control of production in processes of cultivation, processing and distribution of organic agricultural products.
