Abstract:
The research aimed to 1) study the teaching and learning patterns of Buddhist integrated moral teaching monks in Chiang Rai Province, 2) develop the potentiality of the Buddhist integrated moral teaching monks in Chiang Rai Province, and 3) analyze the teaching styles of the Buddhist integrated moral teaching monks in Chiang Rai province. The study was the qualitative research. The research methodology was spatial and document analysis.
The results of the study were as follows:
From the patterns of teaching and learning of Buddhist integrated moral teaching monks in Chiang Rai province, it was found that the teaching and learning patterns of schools in Thoeng District, Chiang Rai Province, were adjusted to integrate with the Buddhist Dharma principles and focused on the learners with modern style, accuracy, and deeply understanding. Implementation of Dharma principles and patterns of teaching and learning of Buddhist integrated moral teaching monks were assigned differently depending on the subjects. Most of Buddhist integrated moral teaching monks were assigned to teach social studies, religion, and culture directly. However, there were some schools assigning Buddhist integrated moral teaching monks to teach the subjects relating to their field of studies such as Thai, English, etc. The patterns of teaching and learning of Buddhist integrated moral teaching monks were also different. Some of them had mentors who provided them guidance. Some of them were teacher assistants in the subjects they were assigned to. Therefore, the patterns of teaching and learning depended on what subjects each school had assigned Buddhist integrated moral teaching monks to teach.
Buddhist integrated moral teaching monks of schools in Thoeng District, Chiang Rai Province were able to learn through trainings provided by organizations in order to learn and ascertain the modern teaching and learning method and avoid creating boredom in learning Buddhist Dharma. Problems of Buddhist integrated moral teaching monks were asked. In doing so, the development project of Buddhist integrated moral teaching monks was created to increase potential of monk teachers and benefits providing to learners. Consequently, students were educated directly from Buddhist integrated moral teaching monks about morals and ethics. The budget was used to create high benefits with worthiness. Therefore, the operational plan was done systematically with the cooperation with the Sangha Council, educational institutions, and all stakeholders. There were public relations process and trainings to increase potential of Buddhist integrated moral teaching monks from schools all over the country. The objectives were to raise potential of Buddhist integrated moral teaching monks to be accepted by the educational institutions, and to educate students to understand Buddhist Dhamma correctly with good behavior.
For the appropriate teaching styles of the Buddhist integrated moral teaching monks in Chiang Rai province, it was to use knowledge and style of teaching and learning from the development of knowledge and ability of teachers, with modern way of passing knowledge to learners. The teaching and learning were fun and impressive to both teachers and leaners. The style of teaching and learning of the Buddhist integrated moral teaching monks was adjusted to apply with learning and teaching method with the Buddhist Dharma integration. As a result, both teachers and learners did not get bored in teaching and learning process.
