Abstract:
The objectives of this research were: 1) to develop the efficiency of the teaching kit and to study the students' learning achievement; 2) to study students' satisfaction with learning management; 3) to suggest guidelines for the development of a teaching kit on global warming in the course geography of high school students by using the 4 MAT learning activities. The target groups were 30 4th year secondary school students and seven teacher representatives in the learning area of social studies selected by purposive sampling. The tools used in this study included a learning management plan, exercises, pre-study tests, and a satisfaction questionnaire. The statistics used in the research were: Frequency, Percentage, Mean and Standard Deviation.
The research results were as follows:
1) The efficiency of the teaching kit (E1) was 87.42, and the efficiency of the outcome of (E2) was 85.14. Therefore, the teaching kit on global warming using the 4 MAT learning method developed by the researcher had an efficiency (E1/E2) equal to 87.42/85.14, which is considered higher than the 80/80 criterion.
2) The student's pre-study achievement had an average score of 14.97 from a total score of 35, representing 42.76 percent. After studying with a teaching set, the average score of the test was 29.80 from a total score of 35, representing 85.34 percent, of which 70% of students had an average academic achievement of more than 70%.
3) The students' overall satisfaction with the teaching kit was statistically rated as a good level in all aspects.
4) The guidelines for developing an interest-based learning teaching kit: students have used their creative skills and applied the idea in actual events. The schools should encourage students to test their thinking and adapt their learning process to different situations. Students have practiced learning, studying, and researching skills on their own to develop learning behaviors.
