Abstract:
The objectives of this research aims to; 1) study the potential of 9 temples built by Kruba Chao Sriwichai in Lamphun Province that are important tourist attractions, 2) To study the norms of Temple's universal design that are important tourist attractions in the Lamphun Province, and 3) create tourism models that are important tourist attractions in Lamphun based on the temple's universal design. A mixed method with quantitative analysis and qualitative research is the methodological approach. The study area consisted of 9 temples established in Lamphun Province by Kruba Sriwichai using a purposeful sampling method. Using the accidental sampling method, quantitative analysis decides the survey population, which is 1,000 visitors, and a questionnaire is the instrument used. Basic statistics were used to analyse the data: percentage, mean and standard deviation. The instrument used was an in-depth interview with qualitative analysis. A purposive sampling approach was used for the survey group of 25 individuals, including the elderly, people with disabilities, monks, novices, community representatives, residents, and general visitors, based on the criteria defined and analyzed the content in descriptive writing.
The research result revealed that;
1. An significant opportunity to visit the temples founded by Kruba is the belief in the conduct and practice of Kruba Chao Sriwichai. As regards the capacity of 9 temples that are significant tourist attractions in compliance with the standardized religious and cultural tourist sites system 5 S), it was found that; 1) temples should be built to draw the attention of visitors or have an attractive character with additional individual charms such as retaining the unique architecture of the pagoda, cubicle, pavilion, sanctuary, or unique Lanna-style buildings by incorporating a local museum tale, tradition, beliefs, morality, poetry or construction, etc. 2) Entry to tourist attractions is convenient when going when going to religious tourist sites under the auspicious name of the temple by attaching an area or location to the park, signposts or maps with signage or tourism attractions that can be seen from a distance, tourists can go on foot, bike, or ride by public transport. 3) Facilities Services: In order to accommodate both of residents and visitors, facilities such as showers, ramps for the disabled and various communication systems should be strengthened. 4) Accommodation Services; For visitors who wish to stay overnight or to practice dharma, several temples also provide accommodation. Therefore, the temple should also provide accommodation for visitors who come as a group or build a pavilion to rest, do activities or dine in the temple.
2. Standards according to the universal design of temples, which are important tourist attractions in Lamphun province, which are the standards according to the universal design of tourist destinations in Thailand, the findings of the survey of standards according to the universal design of 9 temples found that only Wat Phrathathariphunchi Woramahawihan has the standard. For other temples, the implemnentation of universal design standards should be encouraged as follows: 1) Physical safety, sufficient lighting around stairs and exits and handrails in the bathroom should be provided. Door closing and opening equipment that do not need a considerable effort and an alarm signal from the head of the bed or the bathroom is needed to call for assistance. 2) Readily accessible; there should be a wheelchair ramp. The cabinet height so the elderly can easily reach things near different sources of sevice or close to the same common area so that families can visit comfortably. 3) An impulse can be created by choosing the right colors that are vivid and simple, older life can look colorful and not sad. Participating in various activities makes it possible to make the most use of the skills of older people and lets them use their abilities to benefit society. 4) basic maintenance; they should be designed to be as easy as possible to care for. A typical house should, for this reason, be compact. There should be an area that is easy to cover for convenient upkeep as it is a big house. In order to minimize yard duty, the house can be equipped with rain-proof aluminum sliding sills and a lawn with low hedges.
3. The 'religious tourism model 55" is the kind of universal designed development of the temple, which is a tourist attraction following the footsteps of Kruba Chao Sriwichai in Lamphun Province. The 5S consists of 1) encouraging mindfulness, 2) cleanliness, 3) comforting, 4) peace and calm, and 5) helpful to address the issue of becoming a religious and cultural tourist destination that also retains a monastic identity. The study's findings found that certain temple attractions are not well known to internationavisitors, but have a distinctive cultural identity and continue to be the pride of the city and tourists.
