Abstract:
The objective of this research is 1) to study the creation of a Buddhist
consciousness in the prevention and surveillance of drug problems along the Loei
border; and 3) to build a Buddhist consciousness in the prevention and surveillance of
drug problems along the Loei Province border. It is research and development (R&D)
with two educational procedures: Qualitative research and Participatory Action
Research (PAR: Participatory Action Research).
Research results
1. In measuring the knowledge and understanding of drugs of the sample
group in Loei Province, it was found that the sample group had a moderate level of
knowledge. Since the public relations from the government agencies that are involved
are still very little publicity. And the level of participation in drug prevention among
people in the community of Loei province of the sample. Can be described as the
level of participation in the prevention of drug problems of the people in the
community of Loei Province of the 3 areas. In finding problems / causes and planning
activities has the highest level of engagement Participation in drug prevention programs
/ projects and encouraging the community to participate in proposing problems and
solutions to drug problems In terms of participation in performance the highest levels
of participation were participation in public relations campaigns to stimulate anti-drug
trends. Participation in counseling for parents / young people with addictions. And to
persuade people in the community to participate in activities to resolve drug problems.
And in the field of participation in monitoring results Community or related agencies
also educate people in the area of participation in monitoring the progress of the
government's drug prevention in various media as well.
2. Most of the sample groups lacked understanding. And can't tell if how
can building a Buddhist consciousness in the prevention and surveillance of drug
problems can help reduce the problems that arise? The reasons why drugs spread to
villages / communities are: 1) weak people lack of consciousness and awareness
Children and youth are eager to know and want to try. Want friends to accept the
family was broken, the love, the warmth, the lack of anchoring. 2) drug substance, drug
intoxication Make the eater fascinated with happiness Enchantment Until unable to
return to happiness in normal life Must always rely on drug use 3) environment,
including the ambiguity around Deficient family, no time to distance, lack of cultivating
good things. And weak villages / communities Lack of a good role model Lack of
harmony Different people ignore each other. In addition, most of the sample groups
received information on drug prevention and surveillance from various media, this
activity was an opportunity that could help people in the area to help cultivate
Buddhist consciousness. Or encourage youth in the area So that youth or people in
the community know right and wrong and to have a study of the principles and
teachings of Buddhism to apply Change behavior and train yourself too.
3. Buddhist consciousness building to solve long-term problems of drug
along the border, namely, 1) preparing people in villages / communities. There are two
levels: villagers level, raising awareness of the dangers and dangers of drugs.
Commitment to take part in solving problems Public relations promote understanding
and change attitudes. And the vocal level Recruiting leaders, develop potential by
training / study visits, etc. 2) Understand drug problems in the community, survey and
screen to identify problems. Analyze data into groups to find solutions to the problems
that are suitable for each group. Analyze the potential of the community. 3) Plan the
community work. Plan with participation to solve other problems that cause drug
problems. 4) Take action to solve problems with participation from people in the
community. And 5) develop to sustainability by improving the quality of life of the
community Manage knowledge and connect networks, evaluate lesson conclusions,
exchange learning including supporting, promoting, networking outside the community.
To develop the next generation of leaders, create volunteer spirit, develop potential
for second generation leaders to have a mainstay continuing to operate.
