Abstract:
The purposes of this research are 1) to study the impact of farmers in
making rubber plantations, rice fields and oil palm, 2) to develop the management of
farmers in making rubber plantations, rice fields and oil palm, 3) to analyze the
pattern of farmers management in making rubber plantations, rice fields and oil
palm with a smart farm model. This research is a qualitative research that links
opinions and farmers management development, in making rubber plantations, rice
fields and oil palm with a smart farm model together. The sample consisted of the
16 leaders from the public and private sectors who are involved with the farmer
group, in making rubber plantation, rice fields and oil palm in the southern region,
concerned with 2 provinces, Nakhon Si Thammarat and Songkhla Province equally by
the way of the in-depth interview and the Purpose Sampling.
The research found that
1) the impact of farmers in making rubber plantations, rice fields and oil
palm according to Buddhist principles in Nakhon Si Thammarat and Songkhla was
found that the farmers in Rattaphum and Khuanniang District in Songkhla and the
farmers in Chian Yai and Hua-sai District in Nakhon Si Thammarat faced problems in
farming that should be affecting to the farmers' agricultural activities. Therefore, there
must be measures and methods to protect the product quality, which will lead to
creating value and creating prices with quality products and using the principles of
Buddhism as a good tool that will be the practice of farmers in having to be
conscious and using intelligence in management. Being the farmers in a Buddhist way
should be applied to the principles in daily life in right time and appropriately. The
farmer is an investor, therefore, should not be negligent in the occupation and must
analyze by adhering to the principles of middle path of occupation. The unity is an
important principle in coexistence in the community and makes the community
strong in the development of stability, prosperity, sustainability and safety in the
farmer's career: rubber plantations, rice fields and oil palm.
2) to develop the management of farmers in making rubber plantations, rice
fields and oil palm according to Buddhist principles in Nakhon Si Thammarat and
Songkhla was found that According to the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy from the
Royal Highness of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej Borommanat Bophit given the
way of life of people at the family, community and national level will be followed
along the middle path and the Buddhist way of agriculture applied to be used both
non-self-harming and not hurting others, diligent, not lazy, having good immunity and
knowing how to use property to benefit both yourself and others Including the study
of the prototype farmers and the use of technology and innovation will be a
guideline to develop and to support for farmers in stability and strength forever.
3)Farm management model for rubber plantations, rice fields and oil
palm with a smart farm model according to Buddhist principles in Nakhon Si
Thammarat and Songkhla Smart Farm Of farmers according to Buddhist principles in
Nakhon Si Thammarat and Songkhla was found that they can answer to other
farmers, with awards and certificates as a tool to honor the community in the way of
life and the way of agriculture, including 16 groups / people / communities in the
management of large fields which can be a model for other groups / communities to
study in terms of quality, value, price and quality products affecting good physical
and mental health and motivation for the occupation of farmers according to
Buddhist principles as well. Farmers have an opportunity to create value and
negotiate with middlemen reasonably because the quality is good in accordance
with the potential and needs of farmers. And then appling Buddhist principles to
strengthen family, community, agricultural organizations such as Iddhipada 4 (basis
for success), Sangahavatthu 4 (bases of social solidarity), Khihisuk 4 (house-life
happiness) and which will drive the society to change towards sustainability
according to the Buddhist way of agriculture
