Abstract:
This paper aimed to study panic buying and the factors associated with it in Thailand during the Coronavirus 2019 pandemic. Data were collected from 406 people (Mean Age = 35.862 years, Standard Deviation = 9.214, Female = 63.547 %). The instrument used in this study was the Panic Buying Scale. The following statistical methods were used: descriptive statistics (Mean and Standard Deviation) and the Chi-Square test. The results showed that: 1) the level of Panic Buying in Thailand was relatively high (4.787, Standard Deviation = 1.908); 2) at a statistically signifi cant level of 0.05, panic buying was exclusively associated with monthly income and city population. Knowledge of panic buying and factors associated with it were developed from the results. This will help us to prepare, manage and reduce the impact of panic buying in the future.
