Abstract:
This research aims to collect data on architecture, the relationship between the way
of life and the living space of the vernacular house, as well as the local wisdom for building
vernacular houses of Chan Thuek people in Khanong Phra sub-district, Pak Chong district, Nakhon
Ratchasima province. The qualitative technique was used in this study, which included a fieldwork
survey, semi-structured in-depth interviews, and focus group discussions. The study's findings are
as follows: Khanong Phra sub district features two vernacular dwellings in Ban Khanong Nuea and
Ban Bukkached, which are classified as hip roofs with gable roof style and gable roof style. The
living space and construction of the vernacular houses can reflect their lives and the local wisdom
in building them. The findings of this study can be used to promote the conservation of vernacular
architecture in the community, and new generations could learn about and appreciate the value
of valuable cultural heritage in the fature.
