Abstract:
The characteristics of heat transfer and water infiltration by hot water into the two-dimensional granular packed bed are experimentally studied. This investigation focused on the two-dimensional flow inside the column of unsaturated granular packed bed assuming the initial temperature at any point between the water and solid matrix equal to local thermal value. This study illustrated the dynamics of heat transfer and water infiltration in various testing cases. Furthermore, the influence of particle sizes also shown as well. The results presented here can be used as basic information for research on other purposes such as heat and water movement in the ground
