Abstract:
This research is aimed at studing the concepts, the values, and the composition of Thayoi Diew for Saw Sam Sai solo by Phraya Phumisewin (Chit Chittasewi). The research results reveal that the concepts of Thayoi Diew for Saw Sam Sai solo by Phraya Phumisewin (Chit Chittasewi) consists of 5 concepts: (1) advanced solo music; (2) execration beliefs; (3) inheritance; (4) transmission rituals and; (5) performing techniques. In addition, Thayoi Diew for Saw Sam Sai solo by Phraya Phumisewin (Chit Chittasewi) include four values: (1) recipient; (2) relay; (3) Phraya Phumisewin (Chit Chittasewi) school and; (4) social value. In the composition of Thayoi Diew for Saw Sam Sai solo by Phraya Phumisewin (Chit Chittasewi), it is suitable for Saw Sam Sai performing. The composition is related to Thai Thao rhythmic structure. Due to its musical form, the piece has the identity of the Yon for beginning and ending of this solo. There are eleven special techniques for Saw Sam Sai fingering positions: (1) Pra; (2) Prom; (3) Air; (4) Nak Sa Dung; (5) Kong; (6) Chun; (7) Kwong; (8) Kran; (9) Chang; (10) Sa But; (11) Rood. Bowing Techniques include (1) Chab Kra Tour Tang Kra Tour; (2) Ngu Luai; (3) Cha Ngak Saw.
